Who cooks Supper?

We're two girls on a mission to taste every last morsel life has to offer. We're writers, travelers, great cooks, and proud New Yorkers. We know how to pickle any kind of vegetable, how to make bacon relevant in any dish, and how to convince you to find room for seconds. We try the weirdest thing on the menu and the burger and fries. We've been known to eat two lunches on our lunch hour. We drink an extra round. We order dessert. We live to eat, and we love to share our great taste.

Because we’re not much for baking, we’ve brought some exceptionally talented dessert chefs on board as well. Read a little more about them below—because everyone likes to know where we get our sugar.

I've been baking as a hobby since I was a kid; I was surrounded by friends and neighbors who all loved baking, and we would often take day trips to pick fresh berries, apples, and pears, and rush home to stuff them into pies and tarts. Last summer, I took my love of baking to a Techniques of Cake Baking course at the Institute of Culinary Education, and I absolutely loved it. I’ll be continuing my education this year with ICE courses including Cookies Unlimited, where I'll be trying out such classic recipes as Tennessee icebox cookies, coconut macaroons, and espresso brownies, and Techniques of Pastry, a 3-day course where I will attempt to master tarts, flaky pie crusts, profiteroles, cream puffs, and tarte tatin. I prefer to bake cookies over everything else, because they're simple, tasty, and easy to distribute as gifts. I also love to bake birthday cakes for friends and family, and I can’t wait to debut a layer cake at Supper with Strangers one evening.
